Abstract
lately, the offshore wind energy farm has drawn a significant attention due to a stronger and steady wind at sea, which result a higher power generation. DC to DC power converters become one of the better solutions for challenges faced during the installation of the HVDC transmitted offshore wind energy system. This paper introduces a multilevel modular dc to dc power converter based on capacitor-clamped (CC) module, for the large power offshore wind firms. To achieve the maximum system efficiency and minimal switching losses, a soft-switching technique is embrace. Theoretical analysis is perform for voltage tripler and 2n+1-level cascaded configuration based on CC modules. The 15 level cascaded switchless based converters are simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The experimental result produced voltage gain of 15. The experimental results validate the theoretical analysis and prove the possibility of the suggested topology.
