Abstract
Kelstrup A, Andersen J. Hvad mente patienterne om psykiatrisk dognafdeling.On the initiative of the nursing staff a patient questionnaire was carried out on a psychiatric day and night ward. The aim of the project was to procure feed-back on specific aspects of the therapeutic milieu and the daily routines of the ward. Of the 240 patients that were admitted to the ward in 1986, 113 (45%) answered an anonymous questionnaire. The results showed good satisfaction with: The contact-person arrangement of the ward; the patients' contact with the ward personnel; and the involvement of patients' relatives in the treatment. Shortcomings were the reception procedures for new patients, the weekly house meetings, patient activities, and patients' occupational possibilities. The limitations of the project are discussed, especially the consequences of patients' anonymity.
