Abstract

A Polish writer explains why unofficial writing flourishes Kazimierz Orlos was born on 26 December 1935 in Warsaw. In 1960 he graduated from the Law Department of Warsaw University and then worked for some years as a legal adviser to, among others, some of the biggest construction works. He has published three volumes of short stories: Miedzy Brzegami (‘Between River Banks’) in PIW 1961; Koniec Zabawy (‘End of Games’) in Czytelnik 1965; Ciemne Drzewa (‘Dark Trees’) in Czytelnik 1970; and two novels — Cudowna Melina (‘Magic Den’) 1973 and Trzecie Klamstwo (‘The Third Lie’) 1980 — published by the Institut Literacki in Paris. In 1983 a book of short stories Pustynia Gobi (‘The Gobi Desert’) was published in London by PULS Publications.
