Abstract

Complex face and neck surgical defects poses reconstructive challenge particularly in tricky situations were prolonged ventilation is contraindicated. The result of an islanded, folded pedicled pectoralis major myocutaneous flap which is a reliable alternative to free flap is shown. A slight modification in conventional technique, where the flap is based solely on its sterno-clavicular fibers preserving the whole of its clavicular head creating a true island flap has been described.
