Abstract

AbstractAt the same time, humans, from the very beginning, have modified their local and global environments so that every once “natural” place and process is now to some extent and increasingly “artificial”. Homosapiens, sapiens emerged in the beginning of the placid Holocene Epoch that nurtured our identities. As a consequence of human actions, we have now created a new geological Epoch, the Anthropocene, which provokes and requires new identities while challenging us to learn to govern evolution.KeywordsAnthropoceneClimate changeEpochsGreenhouse effectHoloceneIdentityIPCCPleistocenePopulationSubsistence affluenceUnited Nations
