Abstract

To improve operator productivity in industrial settings, it is important to establish effective Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC). By doing so, we will be able to exploit human skills and robots simultaneously. In this paper, we are interested in the collaboration between human and the high payload robot in an industrial environment. We will talk about the concept of HRC while emphasizing the characteristics of high payload robots. In addition, the methods used to secure these robots and ensure a safe HRC are exposed. Moreover, for an effective collaboration, it is necessary to have a good communication support; thus, we will focus on the user interfaces used in the case of an HRC with high payload robots while insisting on the use of the virtual environment. Finally, we will present some industrial applications.
