Abstract
The speaker and his co-workers at Waseda University have been doing researches on humanoid robots for more than a quarter of a century. By constructing humanoid robots that form and behave like human, we are attempting to develop a design method of a humanoid robot having human friendliness to communicate with humans naturally as well as to elucidate not only the physical but also the mental mechanism of a human from the engineering point of view.
