Abstract

This paper which is entitled Humanity and its purposes in Islamic law. Humanity has a basic value in Islam in that Islam tries to produce fruitful people to the society. Thus، worship in Islam can be concretized in obeying to Allah’s orders and being sympathetic with Allah’s creatures. In this paper، we shed some light on the maqasid and the origin of humanity. The paper consists of several sections: section one is about defining humanity and Sharia maqasid; section two is devoted to showing the aspects of humanity in Islam on the basis of Qur’an verses، hadiths، and the scholar’s views. At the end of the study، we arrived at some conclusions، among them: one of the most remarkable features by which Islam is recognized is the desire of being human. This desire has been determined by Allah. In fact، the Sharia maqasid is a foundation to protect humans’ respect. There are so many of the holy Qur’an verses، hadiths، and the ashab’s sayings in the Islamic culture from which we can take advantage and use them in our lives. Finally، we have suggested that universities and research institutes should emphasize the importance of the papers which indicate the relationship between Islamic Sharia maqasid and humanity so that they can show the wisdom and inclusiveness of Islam to a greater extent.
