Abstract
ABSTRACTClass scheduling presents a recurring challenge each semester in educationalinstitutions. Frequently, the methodologies and tools usedin creating class schedules do not meet the needs of stakeholders, leading to considerable dissatisfaction and potential conflicts amongthe team. This project aims to demonstrate a human-centered approachby employing design thinking in action, through a detailedreport on the methods and techniques used in the collaborativedevelopment of a school scheduling prototype. The design processincluded three primary phases: immersion, ideation withinconstraints, and evaluation of the proposed solution. As a result, aversatile and functional prototype was developed, undergoing threeevaluative interactions: heuristic evaluation, First Click analysis, and System Usability Scale (SUS) testing. As evaluations progressed, the prototype underwent the necessary modifications, showcasingits evolution within a user-centered process. This functional prototypeis the main outcome of this research. Furthermore, this studyseeks to contribute to encouraging and demonstrating the use ofthe design thinking process in the development of a software tool
