Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the expression levels of the selected mRNAs: protamine 2 (PRM2), pregnancy specific beta 1-glycoprotein 1 (PSG1) and the nonclassical histocompatibility class I antigen (HLA-E) in ejaculated spermatozoa from fertile and infertile men, and to analyze the fate of these mRNA molecules following microinjection of a single human spermatozoon into hamster oocytes.
