Abstract

The human resource management practices included: hiring, placement, and promotion. The dependent variable utilized was the performance of teachers in terms of the delivery of instruction through the result of the NAT of the selected national high schools in the Division of Antipolo City for the last three years. The study employed descriptive evaluative and correlation methods of research with the aid of a valid and reliable researcher-made questionnaire checklist. This study also made use of documentary analysis where NAT results and other pertinent records were utilized. Purpose: This study sought to determine the extent of implementation of human resource management practices of the selected national high schools in the Division of Antipolo City as perceived by the three groups of respondents in terms of hiring, placement, and promotion. Research Methodology: Descriptive evaluative and correlation methods were used in this study in order to ascertain and to describe the extent of implementation of human resource management practices in the Division of Antipolo City, Philippines. Documentary analysis was used on the performance of the selected national high schools in the National Achievement Test in the Division of Antipolo City for the last three years. Results: Human resource management practices with respect to hiring and placement of teachers have no significant relationship to the National Achievement Test results; however, promotion of teachers has significant relationship to the National Achievement Test results. Limitations: a limitation of this study is that it was only conducted during the 2018-2019 school year in all public secondary schools with fiscal autonomy in the division. Contribution: This study can be used in organizing the Human Resources Unit in an institution, especially in the field of education.
