Abstract

The effective use of human resource and time management in projects can bring huge benefits to the companies' performance. Based on this point of view, a systematic mapping study was performed about research papers related to human allocation in projects. The purpose of this paper was to understand the used techniques to allocate human resources in projects and show gaps for further works. After performing the researches, an initial set of 7,894 articles was obtained. The application of selection criteria allowed the choice of 27 articles. These works were classified considering their relevance and contribution to the resource allocation area. Among the articles selected, two gaps were noticed: companies cannot change their strategic objectives once the project is started; the memory of previous allocations could not be used for future allocations. The results of this study are expected to help project managers improve their human resource allocations.
