Abstract

Silicone rubber was used to fill maternal and fetal blood vessels in 3 human placenta in situ. Comparison with radiographic microscopic and electron microscopic techniques is possible. The technique shows promise in elucidating maternal vessels at the margin of the placenta as well as the intervillous space and interconnections within the fetal placental vessels.
