Target Audience: Physicians and researchers within the field of allergic disease. Activity Objectives (a) To review general structure, function, and regulation of chemokines and their receptors. (b) To review the role of chemokines and chemokine receptors in asthma. (c) To provide an integrated mechanism to explain the interaction between IL-13 and chemokines in the pathogenesis of asthma. Accreditation/Provider Statements and Credit Designation: The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The AAAAI designates this educational activity for up to 1.0 hour in category I credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spent in the educational activity.
