Abstract
Here, we provide an overview of the content of the Special Issue on “Human-computer interaction in smart environments”. The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight technologies and solutions encompassing the use of mass-market sensors in current and emerging applications for interacting with Smart Environments. Selected papers address this topic by analyzing different interaction modalities, including hand/body gestures, face recognition, gaze/eye tracking, biosignal analysis, speech and activity recognition, and related issues.
Highlights
We provide an overview of the content of the Special Issue on “Human-computer interaction in smart environments”
The aim of this Special Issue is to highlight technologies and solutions encompassing the use of mass-market sensors in current and emerging applications for interacting with the above smart environments
The Special Issue gathers together 22 papers concerning current research efforts focused on human-computer interaction (HCI) through natural and intuitive modalities including hand/body gestures [1,2,3,4,5,6], face recognition [7,8], gaze/eye tracking [4,9,10], biosignal analysis [11,12,13,14,15], speech recognition [16], activity recognition [17,18] and their related issues
