Abstract

This study is an empirical investigation of human capital and economic growth in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. OLS regressions were used from 2000 to 2019 along with the Granger Causality Test from 1985-86 to 2018-19 to estimate the long-run direction between the sample variables. It was found that there was a positive and significant impact of human capital on economic growth and divulged a long-run relationship with causal links between human capital investment and economic growth. A substantial amount of budgetary allocation for human capital development is a policy suggestion for the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
