Abstract

(TC), 2) Lymph nodes calcifications (LNC), 3) Carotid artery calcifications (CAC), 4) Laryngeal cartilages calcifications (LCC), 5) Stylohyoid chain calcifications (SCC) and 6) other calcifications (OC). SPSS 20.0 software package program and Chi-square test, Kappa statistics were used for statistical analysis. Results: CBCT images showed the incidence of calcifications in decreasing order CAC (49%), TC (34.3%), SCC (8.8%), LCC (5.9%), LNC (2%). Female patients (65,7%) were more affected than males. The location of calcifications were 65,7% bilaterally, 14,3% right and 20,0% left. Conclusions: The soft tissue calcification detection rate is relatively higher than suggested in previous reports.
