Huge hepatic cavernous hemangioma treated with interventional embolization

Abstract

Objective To study the therapeutic effects of interventional embolization in treating Huge hepatic cavernous hemangioma (HHCH). Methods 12 cases were ducted with emulsion mixture of lipiodol\|unltrafluid and PYM, and then peripheral small vessels of the tumor were embolized with gelatin spongy particles. Results Preoperative liver opacification showed multiple abnormal vascular lakes in arterial phases, known as hanging nut on a twing sing and early leaving but late returning sign. Tumors all diminished, 10 significantly, after operation, and abnormal vascular lakes disappeared. Conclusion Combined embolization of gelatin spongy particles with emulsion mixture of lipiodol\|unltrafluid and PYM is an optimum treatment for HHCH.
