Abstract

A 28-year-old man presented with flu like symptoms of 1 week duration. He was evaluated elsewhere with transthoracic echocardiography and computed tomographic scan, and he had been diagnosed with dissection of the aorta. He had also been diagnosed with severe aortic regurgitation. Urgent surgery was performed but on the operating table, no evidence of dissection was found. The aneurysm was excised and replaced with an aortic metallic valve with a woven Dacron tube graft and a huge aortic aneurysm diagnosis was established. The histological workup showed cystic medial necrosis.
