Abstract

Children who are stunted can experience impaired physical, mental, cognitive and intellectual development so that children are unable to learn optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mother's knowledge and work regarding toddler growth and stunting at the Simpang Empat Health Center, Asahan Regency in 2022. This type of research is analytic with a cross-sectional method, the population in the study was 578 people and 57 people were taken as a sample. The data collected is primary data, namely data obtained directly from the respondents. The data analysis used was univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents had insufficient knowledge (31 (54.4%) with short stunting, 23 (40.3%) respondents. From the results of the statistical test, it was obtained a P value of 0.003 <0.05, which means that there is a relationship between mother's knowledge about the growth and development of toddlers and the incidence of stunting. the majority did not work as many as 30 (52.6%) respondents with short 25 (43.8%) respondents. From the results of the statistical test, it was obtained a P value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a relationship between the mother's work on the growth and development of toddlers and the incidence of stunting. It is hoped that health workers at the Simpang Empat Health Center will encourage and foster the community to better maintain health and improve the growth and development of toddlers
