Abstract

Karangayu Public Health Center occupies the first rank since it has 164 cases of anemia with 215 pregnant women. However, the distribution of iron tablets or Fe tablets there runs well since it has distributed about 94.95 % of Fe1 and 111.5 % of Fe3.This study aims to learn whether there is a correlation bet-ween the level of knowledge and husbands’ support of Trimester III pregnant women with maternal adherence to the consumption of iron tablets (Fe Tablets) in Karangayu Public Health Center in 2014. This research is a quantitative study with the type of correlation one using cross sectional approach. The population of this research is the third trimester pregnant women with gestational age from 28-40 weeks. The sample is done on 51 patients by saturated sampling techniques. The analysis of the statistical test through Chi-square test results 11.954 amount of values with p-value is 0.001 where p-value = 0.001 < α (0.05). It indicates there is a significant correlation between the knowledge and the adherence. Then, the continuity correction chi-square test is used to know the result of husbands’ support and the result is about 7.541 amount of values with p-value is 0.008 where p-value < α (0.05). It indicates there is a correlation between husbands’ support and maternal adherence to the consumption of iron tablets (Fe tablets) in Karangayu Public Health Center in 2014. The suggestion of this research for midwife to conduct counseling to pregnant women and her husband about iron tablets, include definition, advantages, side effect and iron tablet use for.
