Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between independent learning and science learning outcomes of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau in the academic year 2020/2021. The method used is descriptive method with the type of research correlation study. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire and observation techniques. The population in this study were all class VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau, totaling 314 students and the research sample was class which was taken by random sampling. Learning independence under study is learning independence with indicators of responsibility, strong self confidence and creative thinking. The data collected were analyzed using product moment correlation. The correlation between independent learning and science learning outcomes is = 0.5 which is in the very low category. Based on the results of data analysis t-count = 2.66 and t-table = 2.080 because t-count > t-table, it can be concluded that there is no positive and significant relationship between student learning independence and student learning outcomes of class VII SMP Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau academic year 2020/2021.
