Abstract

Glaucoma elderly who have a minimum of 1-2 years will change the concept of self-both positive and negative. This study will analyze the relationship of glaucoma with changes in self-concept of the elderly in Community Eye Hospital (RSMM) East Java. This study uses a quantitative approach to cross-sectional The independent variables are glaucoma and the dependent variable is the change in self-concept. Population in glaucoma patients amounted to 43 respondents using a sampling technique used purposive sampling. Instrument research using questionnaire and medical record. This Penelitiana using Spearman's rho test. The results showed the results of glaucoma patients for 1-2 years as many as 15 respondents with a positive self-concept. Spearman's rho test showed no association between glaucoma with changes in self-concept in elderly Eye Hospital Society (RSMM) East Java. Retrieved p = 0.024. The results of visual acuity criteria affected by negative self-concept as much as 9 respondents. Spearman's rho test showed no association between glaucoma with changes in self-concept in elderly Eye Hospital Society (RSMM) East Java. Retrieved p = 0.016.
