HUBUNGAN ANTARA KARAKTERISTIK IBU BERSALIN DENGAN PEMILIHAN TENAGA PENOLONG PERSALINAN

Abstract

Background: The growth and outgrowth phase of baby is a very susceptible to various diseases or infections, for it needs more intensive treatment at baby newborns. The labor that has been trusting by the public in the care of newborn babies is a midwife (a shaman who helps in child delivery).Based on data taken at PunggurPuskesmas, there were still many midwifes who did the newborn care action which not appropriate to standard, that is: there is still a midwife who does umbilical cord care using concoction. Resarch Purposes: The purpose of this study is to know the relationship of knowledge with the action of the newborn care.This study is an analytic correlation research using cross sectional approach and the number of samples taken was 35 respondents by using total sampling technique. Data analysis using was univariate analysis, bivariate and to know the relation of variable used statistic test. Research Methods: This research is conducted by using the analytical correlation method with cross sectiona design. The Results: The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge (p value = 0.01) with respondents' actions toward the newborn baby care. Suggestions: Based on the results of study, there needs to be an enhancement of partnership between nakes and non nakes in evaluating the knowledge and actions of respondents in doing the newborn baby care once every 3 months to improve knowledge and action appropriate to health standards.
