Abstract

Compact dual-band bandpass filter which meets IEEE 802.11 application requirements by using new H-shaped tri-section stepped-impedance resonator is proposed, and a tri-band bandpass filter which achieves insertion loss of 0.41, 0.66, and 1.65 dB at 2.5, 3.49, and 5.6 GHz, respectively, is also designed with two-path coupling. The new designs are demonstrated by experiment. The new filters have advantages of compact structures, low passband insertion losses, good frequency selectivity, and miniature circuit sizes. All these have prospect to be applied in future wireless communication systems. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
