Abstract

The successful transition from hospital to home requires extensive discharge education and preparation. Family caregivers play a crucial role in the continuity of care and recovery process of medicine patients post-discharge. Hence, it is essential that they consider themselves, adequately prepared and ready for this transition. The study aimed to assess the quality of discharge teaching, readiness for hospital discharge (RHD) and its associated factors among family caregivers of medicine patients at a tertiary care hospital, Karachi, Pakistan.
