Abstract
The development of new technologies and their adoption enable the collection, analysis and exploitation of data for decision-making. Data can play an important role in the healthcare industry since it is a complex system where each decision is affected by risk and uncertainty. This study investigates the role of big data and data analytics in supporting the risk management practices and the quality of healthcare services delivery from the healthcare professional perspective in Italian healthcare organizations, using the lens of organizational information processing theories (OIPT).
