A Critical Notice of Some Recent Works on the Borderline of Linguistics and Philosophy Francis Jeffry Pelletier, Francis Jeffry Pelletier University of Alberta Francis Jeffry Pelletier received his B. S. (math. ed.) and M. A. (philosophy) from the University of Nebraska in 1965 and 1966; Ph. D. (philosophy) from UCLA in 1971; M. Sc. (linguistics) from the University of Alberta in 1977. He has authored various articles in philosophy of language, ancient philosophy, Empiricism, and linguistics; and has edited works on philosophy of language and history of philosophy.
