Abstract

Abstract We have been studying the curation in museums. Since sometimes it is rather difficult especially for the novice viewers to understand and enjoy abstract artworks, as a curation, we tried to help viewers’ art experiences. In one of experiments, the participants seemed to be able to gradually understand the artwork and create good stories. Even a representational painting, the level of understanding was gradually changing. Thus the information of art sometimes influences the art appreciation. After knowing the artworks, people usually put value and become to like or dislike the artworks. Our question is how will the value and preference of art be changed according to offered factors? For that we conducted several experiments. In this paper, we will discuss such changing phenomena from the participants’ comments on artworks.
