Abstract

Removal of multiple scattering from electron energy-loss spectra can be posed as a deconvolution problem in three dimensions. For core-excitation data with energy losses of hundreds of eV, gathered by forward scattering, there is an accurate, unique, statistically stable, one-dimensional method. Examples are shown.
