Abstract
How to predict the scattering and range profiles using complex targets with cavities is investigated by using the hybrid finite element-boundary integral-multilevel fast multipole algorithm (FE-BI-MLFMA). A double-check criterion is presented for validating the reliability of FE-BI-MLFMA. The accuracy of both amplitude and phase of the scattering field using the complex target is emphatically validated based on the criterion. The range profiles of a typical target-cylinder with cavity-are investigated with the validated FE-BI-MLFMA.
