Abstract
Rosenbaum and colleagues1 demonstrated that preoperative lower right ventricular stroke work index, higher right atrial pressure, higher intraoperative ultrafiltration volume, longer cardiopulmonary bypass time, and higher serum total bilirubin level were associated with Interagency Registry for Mechanically Assisted Circulatory Support (INTERMACS)-defined liver dysfunction after left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. Several concerns should improve their findings.
