Abstract
Abstract Yuna Kim’s video work Stacking, Collapsing, and Stacking was part of the group exhibition Common Occurrences: Four Korean Artists living in the U.S., which also featured Sangmi Yoo, Ray Im, and Mizin Shin. Held from 15 September through 31 October 2022, the exhibition aimed to introduce contemporary South Korean viewpoints to the majority first-generation students and the largely Hispanic audiences of the Permian Basin of Texas. Comprised of twenty-eight delicately animated vignettes, Kim’s usage of basic rotoscoping techniques and sound design examines mounting tension in our everyday visual world.
