Abstract

Background: The LEOPARD-1 trial established noninferiority of minimally invasive distal pancreatectomy (MIDP) as compared with open distal pancreatectomy (ODP) in the perioperative setting. Limited data exist regarding long-term benefits of MIDP compared with ODP; therefore, we assessed the downstream development of procedure-related incisional hernia in these populations.
