Abstract

AbstractThis course is designed for young ophthalmologists and will give the opportunity to discuss aspects of the structure and structural changes of the optic nerve head and the retinal nerve fiber layer related to glaucoma and the alteration of the visual function related to this disease. In the last few years there is increasing evidence of the importance of structural measurements particularly early in the disease, and combining information from structure and function can significantly improve detection and assessment of glaucoma progression. Different tools and new technologies for measuring structural changes will be discussed in details such as stereo‐ photographs, HRT, GDx and OCT.
