Research Article| April 01 2018 How (Not) to Teach Disney Jason Sperb Jason Sperb Jason Sperb teaches in the College of Communication at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. He is the author of Flickers of Film/ Nostalgia in the Time of Digital Cinema (Rutgers University Press, 2015); Blossoms and Blood: Postmodern Media Culture and the Films of Paul Thomas Anderson (University of Texas Press, 2013); and Disney’s Most Notorious Film: Race, Convergence, and the Hidden Histories of Disney’s Song of the South (University of Texas Press, 2012). He is currently finishing a manuscript on representations of leisure culture, race, and war nostalgia in depictions of Hawaii in mainland US media from the 1930s to the 1970s. The book should appear in print in 2019.
