Abstract

With more than 100,000 ectopic pregnancies annually in the United States, ectopic pregnancies pose a prevalent and potentially life-threatening risk during the first trimester. Ectopic pregnancies may be treated medically or surgically, with methotrexate (MTX) being the medical management. ACOG and ASRM have published guidelines on the management of ectopic pregnancies. However, there remains a dearth of evidence regarding the minimal period of time between the administration of MTX and the safe conception of a subsequent pregnancy.
