The Hemoccult SENSA, a modified guaiac-based test, reportedly detects lower levels of hemoglobin, thereby increasing sensitivity (5). The HemeSelect, using an antihuman hemoglobin antibody, is reported to be highly sensitive and specific (6, 7).
