Abstract

A number of publications have appeared in the mass media recently on the tragic events in Novocherkassk during June 1-3, 1962. The interest in this dramatic story is understandable and to be expected. But one cannot avoid noting that many publications are based not on concrete, documented facts, but sometimes on the recollections of eyewitnesses, whose interpretation of what took place in those tragic days is rather subjective.
