Abstract
In 1982 we recruited a cohort of patients presenting with acute guttate psoriasis (AGP). Subsequently, we reported the findings of our study on the role of streptococcal infection in the initiation of AGP in theArchives. 1 In a follow-up study aimed at assessing the risk of further psoriasis after a first episode of AGP, we have traced 15 of the 16 patients reported in our study who had presented with their first episode of AGP more than 10 years earlier. Five patients were examined by one of us (B.A.M.), four patients responded to a postal questionnaire, four patients were interviewed by telephone, and, in two cases, information was derived from the general practitioner's record. One patient could not be traced. Five of the patients (two females and three males), including one of the two patients who were not contacted directly, now have chronic psoriasis.
