Abstract
Substance use disorders (SUDs) are a leading cause of child removal due to child welfare and criminal justice agencies. But if SUD treatment programs cooperate with, instead of battle, these agencies for the benefit of children and families, the families are more likely to stay together, and the mothers more likely to recover.
