Abstract

Academia has long neglected lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and nonbinary (LGBTQIA+, queer) Asian American youth. Indeed, most available literature that examines queer Asian American issues falls victim to the matrix of domination. Succumbing to this matrix effectively amplifies the voices that are the least stratified within a broader social group (i.e. cisgender, gay, white men within the queer community). This literature review examines works between 1998-2023 to deliberately expand the existing lexicon for queer Asian American youth and hopes to catalyze future scholarly efforts in this area.
