Abstract

This article is based on my doctoral dissertation (2007) “Poiesis of everyday life—inquiry of domestic skills as a way of being‐in‐the‐world in the light of existentialist‐hermeneutics phenomenology.” The aim is to highlight the methodological possibilities that are part of the phenomenological philosophy. Included in this article are theoretical considerations that can be divided in three steps. Firstly, I describe the ontological starting point, which is unique to phenomenological thinking. Secondly, I bring out the method of arranging the research questions in line for ontological facts. Lastly, I present an example of how to grasp domestic skills in a phenomenological way. As conclusion, I present the ontological model of domestic skills as the art of everyday life.
