Abstract

CO2 laser resurfacing has become very popular for reducing wrinkles, but it is unclear if it is any better than chemical peels or dermabrasion performed by skilled operators. Two separate split-face studies compared the results of CO2 laser resurfacing with phenol chemical peel and dermabrasion. In both studies, wound care consisted of tap water or saline cleansing followed by petrolatum ointment applications several times per day.
