Abstract

Studies have shown significant effects of gender on vascular conditions and outcomes. With vein stent placement emerging as an efficacious and safe treatment of proximal venous outflow obstruction (PVOO) in the iliofemoral veins, it remains unclear how gender might affect the results. We compared the presentation and outcomes after venography, intravascular ultrasound, and vein stent placement in male and female patients with chronic PVOO.
