Abstract
Bipolar disorders (BD) are a complex group of severe, chronic and systemic disorders and it knows no age, racial, social class, geographic, or national boundaries.1 Unfortunately, people with BD have an average mortality rate that is higher than the general population, corresponding to a 10- to 20-years shortened life expectancy.1 Thus, the occurrence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the most common cause of premature mortality in people with bipolar disorders.
