Abstract
Housing insecurity is a problem for people during COVID-19. This is because the struggling of economy and the financial pandemic. During COVID-19 government has announced citizen to limit their movement and all outdoor activities is not allowed. In the pandemic situation government came out with a Movement Control Order to control the spread of viruses among citizens. This paper aims to identify the challenges and factors of housing insecurity among people in Batu Pahat and analyze the issues of homeownership. The study was conducted quantitatively through a questionnaire that has been spread to the potential respondents. The objectives are to identify factors and challenges and also the importance of homeownership and the location of houses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the researcher has been studying the level of group income and average income to identify their ability for homeownership. The findings showed people's intensity with the financial and price of houses. However, there are weaknesses such as the limitation of respondents and data during the research process. In conclusion, affordable houses also being a factor because is hard to find in the Batu Pahat area based on the answer from respondents in the questionnaire.
