Abstract
This study aims to shed light on the most important environmental problems facing urban areas, which is the management of household waste. The amount of solid waste is constantly increasing with the growing population, especially in major cities such as the capital, Oran and Constantine. Through this research, we wanted to address the policies and laws that Algeria has adopted to solve this problem and how to deal with it and to transform it from an environmental problem into an economic investment by recycling solid materials such as plastic and cardboard, and organic materials by using them in fertilization, as is done in developed countries. Proposing solutions and recommendations based on existing problems on the ground and achieving environmental sustainability.
