Abstract

Catalyst commonly used in home appliances today, catalysts for combustion, and catalytic incinerators expected to be marketed in the near future are reviewed. Home use catalysts feature greater safety, dimensional precision, reliability, and longer service lives when compared with catalysts for the chemical industry. They also offer a far-infrared heating function and colorizing capability that greatly increase their product value. Catalysts have also become a key material in the development of electrode materials, battery materials, electronic component materials, thin film coating materials, opto electronic materials, and other functional materials for opto electronics materials, in addition to their applications in oxidation catalysts for household appliances.
