Abstract
Schneider's Drosophila melanogaster cell line 2, and primary cell cultures of the house fly, Musca domestica , were infected with Coxsackie virus type B5 and poliovirus type 2, and Coxsackie virus type B5, respectively. During assay periods of 7 to 23 days, no increase in viral titer in any of the cell cultures relative to the cell-free controls was observed. A modification of Eide & Chang's X-2 medium for M. domestica is described.
